Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Holds “Humanities Hearts United” Event Honoring Teachers, Opens HUSO Big Show 2026 Talent Competition
Bangkok — On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Suan Dusit University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held its annual “Humanities Hearts United: Weaving Threads of Faith, Honoring Our Teachers” event at the Ratchakittinitchayo Building, 2nd floor. Faculty, staff, and students turned out in force to keep the tradition alive — paying tribute to their teachers with gratitude and reverence while celebrating student talent across the board. Assoc.Prof. Pacharee Suankaew, Vice President for Student Affairs, presided as guest of honor, lighting candles and incense before the Buddha image and opening the ceremony with a few words to students. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Yutthapong Leelakitpaisarn, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, followed with encouragement and life advice for students. The morning also included a poetry recitation for Teachers’ Day, led by Associate Professor Samniang Fakcharoen, before student representatives from each program took the stage with performances reflecting their program’s unique character and identity.
Programs represented on stage included Language and Communication with “The Responsibility: Mistakes Happen… But Teachers Never Give Up,” Thai Language and Culture with “Weave Care Into Every Word,” Creative Design with Innovation with “Teachers Are Everywhere, But the Good Ones Choose Suan Dusit,” Industrial and Organizational Psychology with “Popular,” English and Korean for Cross-Cultural Communication with “Sao Mueang Kan,” Chinese for Communication with “Chuang Mian Yian Suin,” and English for Communication with “Royal Red.”
The morning closed with an honors ceremony recognizing students with strong academic records and standout achievements, sending them off with encouragement ahead of the Wai Khru ceremony — complete with speeches of gratitude, program-based garland presentations, and a floral offering competition, followed by the announcement of this year’s Wai Khru garland design winners.
The afternoon shifted gears entirely with the “HUSO Big Show 2026” talent competition at Ratchakittinitchayo Hall, giving students a stage to show off their creativity and special talents. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Yutthapong Leelakitpaisarn, as Dean, again presided as guest of honor for the opening.
The afternoon lineup featured performance competitions from five acts — “Jai Jao Oey,” “Burn Book,” “The Dream Come True,” “Side b Side Kang Kan,” and “Key (คีย์)” — alongside the HUSO Smart Idol pageant (open to female, male, and LGBTQ contestants, who introduced themselves and showcased their program’s special talents) and the HUSO MC Search competition, where hopefuls introduced themselves and shared their thoughts and perspectives as part of a new generation’s voice. Last year’s HUSO Smart Idol and HUSO MC Search titleholders also made an appearance, offering encouragement to this year’s contestants.
Altogether, the day marked another win for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in blending cultural tradition with creative expression, deepening the bond between teachers and students, and giving students room to explore their creativity and talents boldly — all in step with the faculty’s push to develop well-rounded students across every dimension.
