SDU Pre-Degree Creates University-Level Learning Opportunity, Building Knowledge of National Ingredients and Food Preparation

Thursday, July 16, 2026, Suan Dusit University’s Lampang Education Center ran its latest SDU Pre-degree class for Semester 1 of the 2026 academic year, welcoming 4th-year Food Entrepreneurship students from Triam Udomsuksa Pattanakan Khelang Nakhon School.

This session tackled a topic close to Thai kitchens: knowledge of ingredients tied to different ethnic and regional culinary traditions. Asst.Prof. Sangwan Chompuja led the class, covering how to identify distinguishing characteristics, select ingredients, and apply ethnic and regional ingredients correctly in cooking. A pre-test and post-test bookended the session, letting instructors track how well students absorbed the material and where their understanding grew.

SDU Pre-degree continues to give high school students a genuine head start — university-level coursework before they’ve even graduated, building career knowledge and skills while banking credits through the university’s Credit Bank system for future study.
