School of Culinary Arts Holds Wai Khru Ceremony for Academic Year 2026
Suan Dusit University’s School of Culinary Arts held its annual Wai Khru ceremony for the 2026 academic year, with Asst.Prof. Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Thanapat Saengrungrueang, Dean of the School of Culinary Arts, presiding over the rites. The ceremony included the traditional presentation of grass, joss sticks, and flowers, along with honoring students recognized for good conduct, virtue, and service to fellow students — plus students who’ve brought credit to both the school and the university.
Instructor Ek Subsin, who oversees the Bachelor of Science Program in Culinary Technology and Service, received an honorary award for outstanding service to students. Asst.Prof. Chatchanok Boonchai, Chair of the same program, led the ceremony honoring top-performing students, presenting garland awards to those who stood out academically.
Faculty, staff, first-year students, and representatives from second- and third-year classes all took part. The event also drew a warm round of thanks for Instructor Dr. Pornyupun Pornsuksawat, along with alumni and current Home Economics students, who lent their support in preparing the garlands used throughout the ceremony.
The Wai Khru ceremony for School of Culinary Arts students took place July 23, 2026, in the Rattakosin Auditorium, 1st Floor, Suan Dusit University.
