Suan Dusit University Trang Education Center Faculty Serve as Expert Judges at the Provincial Royal-Pattern Fabric and Handicraft Contest 2026

Assistant Professor Piyanee Phetsrichuang served as an expert judge at the provincial contest for royal-pattern fabrics — the “Pha Lai Khor Somdet” and “Pha Lai Bupphaboromrachininat” patterns — along with a handicraft showcase, for 2026, held under the project to elevate Thai fabric wisdom products and handicrafts in Trang Province for fiscal year 2026. Mr. Apichat Saraban, Deputy Governor of Trang Province, presided over the opening ceremony on August 4, 2026, at the Multipurpose Building, Trang Municipality, Thap Thiang Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province.

The Thai fabric contest places weight on creativity, craftsmanship, material quality, the way local identity comes through in the work, and the potential for commercial development — all aimed at raising the value and recognition of Trang’s Thai fabrics and handicrafts. The contest also serves as an important mechanism for driving forward policy on Thai fabric wisdom products, drawing on the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to build on local wisdom, blend in modern knowledge, and steer Thai fabric and handicraft work toward the concept of sustainable fashion.
