Suan Dusit University Hosts Gala Dinner for University Executives Attending Nationaland Regional Conferences
Suan Dusit University organized a gala dinner to welcome executives from higher education institutions on the occasion of hosting the 4th Meeting of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) and the CUPT Association 2025, as well as the 2nd Meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL–Thailand) 2025.
The event was graciously presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Pitauk Chancharoen, President of Suan Dusit University, together with the university’s management team. They warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of CUPT, along with executives from universities across Thailand who attended the meetings.
As part of the evening, Suan Dusit University showcased its unique expertise in hospitality and culinary arts. Faculty members, staff, and students from the School of Culinary Arts, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, and other related divisions presented a creative food exhibition under the concept “Let’s Evolute! The Journey of Flavors: Humanity’s Heritage through Meals.”
The culinary journey featured six distinctive eras of human food heritage:
- Era 1: Discovery of Fire – Grilled Meat with Georgian Red Wine
- Era 2: Agriculture – Chips of Mixed Grains with Spiced Polenta Dip
- Era 3: Excellence to Heredity – Tea Leaf Salad Bites
- Era 4: Trading – Roti with Chicken Panang Sauce, Pickled Shallots & Papaya, paired with Chinese Tea
- Era 5: Industrialization (Fast & Furious) – Pizza and Chips with Soft Drinks
- Era 6: Future to Be – Santol in Syrup and a competition dish of Steamed Rice with Chili Paste, Crispy Fish, Chicken Drumsticks & Shrimp Balls in Curry Sauce, served with fresh vegetables.
The program also featured vibrant performances, including Suan Dusit University’s cultural showcase, as well as award-winning student singers.
The gala dinner was held on Saturday, 16 August 2025, at Raktakanit Auditorium, Suan Dusit University, highlighting the university’s commitment to blending academic excellence with cultural creativity in welcoming national and international academic leaders.
