Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University, Hosts MOU Signing Ceremony to Drive Dusit District as a Learning City for Cultural Heritage
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University, organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to promote Dusit District, Bangkok, as a Learning City for Cultural Heritage. The agreement was signed between Dusit District Office, Suan Dusit University, Navamindradhiraj University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, and Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.
The event was opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitauk Chancharoen, President of Suan Dusit University, who warmly welcomed participants. Mr. Tienchai Wongsuwan, Director of Dusit District Office, delivered a speech highlighting the district’s commitment to cultural cooperation and previous joint activities with academic institutions. Following this, executives from the participating universities introduced historical landmarks and key learning sites within their campuses and the Dusit area, emphasizing their roles as cultural learning hubs.

Objectives of the MOU
The collaboration aims to:
- Promote Dusit District as a Learning City for Cultural Heritage that preserves identity and ensures community sustainability.
- Conserve, disseminate, and enhance the district’s cultural heritage.
- Integrate arts, culture, education, student development, research, and innovation to support Dusit as a cultural learning hub.
- Utilize technology and innovation in conserving, restoring, and making cultural heritage more accessible to all groups.
- Coordinate with other organizations to achieve shared goals.
Preserving Identity and Building Sustainability
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University, recognizes the importance of collaboration between academic institutions, government agencies, and entrepreneurs in the Dusit District. This partnership seeks to safeguard local identity and foster sustainability in a community rich in architecture, multicultural lifestyles, and intangible heritage.
Through this cooperation, cultural preservation will be integrated across multiple dimensions—history, architecture, arts, cuisine, local wisdom, and way of life—with support from technology and innovation to ensure broader accessibility and appreciation.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the 5th Floor Conference Room, University Office Building, Suan Dusit University.
