Suan Dusit University Plants 30 Durian Trees to Advance the ‘Durian for Future’ Initiative, Cultivating Sustainable Educational Opportunities
On Monday, December 22, 2025, Suan Dusit University (SDU), through the Educational and Career Guidance Information Center, planted 30 durian saplings at the Safe Agriculture and Well-being Learning Center, Nakhon Nayok Education Center. This activity was part of the “Durian for Future: 30 Trees of Care, Empowering SDU Students’ Future” project.
The event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanasuek Nichanong, Vice President for Administration, Research, and Innovation, who was joined by SDU executives and staff. Together, they participated in the planting ceremony, symbolizing a unified commitment to fostering educational support and student welfare.
The initiative aimed to establish a sustainable revenue stream to support scholarships for Suan Dusit University students. The project reached its goal through the collective sponsorship and contributions from university executives and personnel, who acted as “hosts” for each tree. This accomplishment reflected the strong public spirit and unwavering dedication of the SDU community in securing a bright educational future for its students.
All durian trees were designated to be cultivated under safe and healthy agricultural standards. Once the first harvest was reached, the university planned to host a durian auction, with all proceeds dedicated to various student scholarship funds.
This activity exemplified the driving force of “The Power of SDU” mission and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
