SDU Hua Hin Holds Wai Khru Ceremony for Airline Business

Students in the Airline Business program at Suan Dusit University’s Hua Hin Education Center held their 2026 Wai Khru ceremony this week.

Assoc.Prof.Dr.Panarat Srisaeng, Director of the Center, lit candles and offered incense at the Buddha shrine, then spoke to the students gathered for the occasion. Administrators and instructors sat in as honored guests.

It’s the kind of ceremony Thai schools have kept going for generations — students paying respect to the teachers who taught them, hoping that respect carries them through their studies and, down the road, their careers. For the newest students, it also worked as a kind of welcome, their first taste of what university life here looks like.

Candles and incense opened the program, followed by the Wai Khru garland rite. A Wai Khru poem contest ran alongside it, and organizers handed out awards afterward to the contest winners and a few other standout students.
