SDU Runs Tourist Police Youth Ambassador Training

Suan Dusit University’s Student Development Division, working with the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, teamed up with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) and the Tourist Police Bureau to run a Tourist Police Youth Ambassador training program.

Assoc.Prof.Patcharee Suankaew, Vice President for Student Affairs, welcomed everyone to open the day. Pol.Lt.Gen.Saksira Pheuk-am, Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, presided over the opening, joined by Asst.Prof.Ratchada Chomphunit, Acting Chair of CUPT’s Student Potential Development Committee; Pol.Maj.Gen.Krit Warit, Deputy Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau; Asst.Prof.Dr.Pimmada Wichasin, Dean of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management; and Asst.Prof.Dr.Thanakorn Paksa, Director of the Student Development Division.

The program moved into a series of talks covering the roles and responsibilities of the tourist police, current crime patterns and scams targeting tourists, and how to reach the tourist police through the 1155 hotline and the TPB app. Pol.Lt.Col.Rachet Muernsen, Inspector at Tourist Police Station 1 (Tourist Police Division 1), spoke on what it takes to become a tourist police supporter and what makes for good hospitality as hosts. Pol.Sgt.Maj.Natthapong Saengraksawong, Deputy Inspector for Suppression at the Tourist Police Bureau, followed with a hands-on workshop covering basic life support, safe driving, and disaster preparedness for public gatherings, led by Pol.Col.Piyarat Suparat, Deputy Commander of Tourist Police Division 1.

Afterward, 93 students who completed the program received certificates and were sworn in as youth ambassadors, presented by Pol.Lt.Gen.Saksira Pheuk-am, Pol.Maj.Gen.Krit Warit, Asst.Prof.Ratchada Chomphunit, and Asst.Prof.Dr.Pimmada Wichasin.

The training ran through a partnership between Suan Dusit University’s Student Development Division and School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, alongside CUPT and the Tourist Police Bureau, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Sala Chuen Arom Meeting Hall.
