Suan Dusit Advances Next-Gen Education, Launches AI for University Project Through “ABDUL Uni” Platform to Build Personalized AI Tutors

Bangkok (July 23, 2026) — Suan Dusit University’s Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology ran a hands-on workshop under the banner “Driving the AI for University Project: Using the ABDUL Uni Platform to Build Data and AI Knowledge for Practical Use.” The session filled Meeting Room 2 at Suan Dusit University and streamed live over Zoom for those joining remotely.

The workshop follows Suan Dusit’s selection as one of 20 pioneering universities nationwide under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation’s project to drive AI-powered teaching and learning at the higher education level for 2026. The Office of the Permanent Secretary partnered with the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency, to help faculty and staff put AI to practical use in the classroom — efficiently and equitably — through “ABDUL Uni,” a personalized online learning system capable of generating AI Tutors tailored to each course and each student’s learning goals.

Asst.Prof. Dr.Pitauk Chancharoen, President of Suan Dusit University, chaired the opening and laid out the university’s policy on AI-driven higher education for 2026, along with plans to scale the ABDUL Uni platform nationally. Assoc.Prof. Dr.Sukhum Chaleysub, President’s Advisory Chairman, spoke on the direction and approach for the university’s AI for University initiative. Dr.Sawong Boonpluk, Vice President for Information Technology, outlined how the university will support teaching, database development, and AI knowledge-building to strengthen learning, academic services, and institutional management.

The event also featured a practical demonstration led by Asst.Prof. Dr. Ladda Suanmali and Asst.Prof. Dr. Bunpod Pijitkamnerd, representing the 20-member team of model instructors for the ABDUL Uni project. They walked participants through applying the platform, building databases to support personalized learning, developing AI Tutors, and designing use cases for individual courses and learning-support work — closing with an exchange on how the university’s admin team plans to support instructors going forward.
