On January 7, 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held at the 5th Floor Conference Room, Thailand Post Headquarters, between Thailand Post Co., Ltd. and Suan Dusit University. The collaboration aimed to advance a research and development project on an online marketplace system and agricultural logistics, with the goal of creating a sustainable community economic model.
The MoU was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chanasuek Nichanong, Vice President for Administration, Research, and Innovation of Suan Dusit University, and Mr. Pitsanu Vanichpol, Chief Efficiency Development Officer and Acting Chief Strategy and Organizational Transformation Officer of Thailand Post Co., Ltd.
The objectives of the agreement were to jointly study, conduct research, and develop projects that enhanced knowledge in online marketplace technologies and the transportation of live giant freshwater prawns through Thailand Post’s logistics processes. The collaboration focused on ensuring suitability for the product and efficiency in meeting consumer needs, fostering an ecosystem conducive to the development of online marketplaces for entrepreneurs, and promoting a sustainable community-based economy.
Assoc.Prof. Dr.Chanasuek Nichanong stated that the collaboration between Suan Dusit University and Thailand Post under the “Live Giant Freshwater Prawn Marketplace” project represented a significant step in linking research with practical community applications. The initiative focused on strengthening the grassroots economy through the use of digital technologies and modern logistics systems. He noted that Suan Dusit University possessed strong expertise in research and development of waterless transportation technology for live giant freshwater prawns, which effectively preserved product quality and reduced losses during transit. At the same time, Thailand Post offered a nationwide distribution network and the ThailandPostMart platform as a direct online marketing channel to consumers.
He further emphasized that this collaboration not only helped prawn farmers achieve more stable incomes but also established a sustainable community economic model that could be extended to other agricultural products in the future. The project served as a prototype for integrating higher education institutions and state enterprises in delivering public services and driving tangible social and economic development for the country.
