HUA HIN – On January 31, 2026, Suan Dusit University, Hua Hin Center, hosted a transformative mental well-being workshop titled “Research Meditation for Aviation Students: The Way to See and Understand Things as They Really Are.” The session, held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panarat Srisaeng, Director of the Hua Hin Center, who delivered the opening remarks and expressed her gratitude to the distinguished speakers. The university was honored to feature two world-class experts: Ms. Nisanat Thammakesiratana, Director of the Mindfulness Academy of Asia and The American School of Bangkok, and Mr. Hartanto Gunawan, founder of a community learning center that has rescued over 400 victims of human trafficking. Mr. Gunawan is also the pioneer of research meditation, a deep contemplative approach that integrates the laws of nature, causality, and impermanence (Anicca) into mental cultivation to help individuals heal from trauma and achieve sustainable mental health. Throughout the event, the speakers shared the core principles of research meditation, focusing on introspection, Vipassana practice, and self-awareness. Students were guided through a process of self-inquiry and reflection to understand the nature of reality and the principle of cause and effect. The students demonstrated exceptional engagement, showing a profound openness to learning and full participation in the mental exercises. This active involvement reflected their recognition of mental health’s vital role alongside professional development in the aviation industry. This initiative served as a crucial step in equipping future aviation professionals with the mindfulness and emotional balance necessary to navigate life’s challenges and the demands of their careers with resilience.
