Suan Dusit University Organizes the “Maha Chat Vessantara Jataka Sermon” Ceremony in Dedication to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit

The Student Affairs Division of Suan Dusit University organized the “Applied Maha Chat Vessantara Jataka Sermon (Two Pulpits)” ceremony as a royal merit-making tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The event was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Raktakanit Auditorium, Suan Dusit University.

The ceremony began at 8:00 a.m. with an auspicious opening ritual, during which the presiding chairperson paid homage to the Triple Gem and performed a royal tribute ceremony. This was followed by the Buddhist sermon performances, divided into various chapters (kand) of the Vessantara Jataka, each presented by invited monks and sponsored by different university executives, faculties, departments, and partner organizations.

The sermon sessions included:
            •           Dasaporn & Himmapan Chapters – delivered by Phra Thep Wachirawatee and Phra Maha Charuwat Charanathammo
            •           Thanakand & Vanapaves Chapter – delivered by Phra Khru Phiphit Thammaphan and Phra Khru Si Wachiraprakun
            •           Chuchok & Chulaphon Chapters – delivered by Phra Khru Palad Suwatthathirakhun and Phra Maha Karawik Ahisako
            •           Mahaphon & Kumara Chapters – delivered by Phra Maha Sophon Sutheero and Phra Maha Suttichai Suntorawatee
            •           Matri & Sakkabanna Chapters – delivered by Phra Thamma Wachirapanyaporn and Phra Mongkhon Thammaphan
            •           Maharaj & Chakkasat Chapters – delivered by Phra Khru Khosit Thammakorn and Phra Khru Palad Suwatthathirakhun
            •           Nakhon Chapter – delivered by Phra Thep Wachirawatee
            •           1,000 Verses Chapter – delivered by Phra Maha Suttiphong Suttiviso

Each chapter was supported by designated sponsors, including university executives, faculties, offices, and external partners.

At the end of the ceremony, the monks offered blessings and sprinkled holy water to bring auspiciousness to all participants.
