Suan Dusit University Wins Bronze Award for SDU Modern Farm Café Innovation

Suan Dusit University received a Bronze Award at Thailand Research Expo 2026 for its innovation on high-quality raw cow milk management from farm to value-added products for a sustainable economy.

The work was presented under the concept “SDU Modern Farm Café” at Booth AL17 during the national research expo, held from June 22 to 26, 2026, at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok.

The booth showed how raw milk from the project was processed into products for tasting and sale. Visitors could try dairy products and bakery items made by Suan Dusit University and learn about the ideas behind them.

The main items were long-shelf-life pasteurized milk, rice-bran prebiotic yogurt, mozzarella from quality cow’s milk, and cheddar cheese. Other dairy products from the project were also displayed.

The project used Thai raw milk as the starting point and developed it into products that can support farmers, entrepreneurs, and community businesses.

The award section of Thailand Research Expo 2026 recognized projects with practical value. Suan Dusit University received the Bronze Award for SDU Modern Farm Café.

The research project was led by Asst.Prof. Dr.Kanokkan Weerakul. The research team included Assoc.Prof. Dr. Naratip Poonnakasem, Dr.Chanchana Siripanwattana, Asst.Prof. Dr. Sawanya Pandolsook, Dr. Panrapee Iamtaweejaroen, and Dr.Wittaya Siripanwattana, together with the School of Culinary Arts, the Processed Food Operations Project, and the Research and Development Institute.

Asst.Prof. Jitwimon Klaysubun, Director of the Research and Development Institute, represented Suan Dusit University in receiving the Bronze Award trophy, a certificate, and prize money of 50,000 baht from the Director of the National Research Council of Thailand.

The award reflected the university’s work in using research and innovation to support dairy product development, commercial use, and sustainable economic growth.
