Suan Dusit University Wins the Global Innovation Excellence Award and Six Other International Honors at KIDE 2025 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Suan Dusit University (SDU) achieved remarkable success at the “2025 Kaohsiung International Invention & Design EXPO” (KIDE 2025) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, securing the Global Innovation Excellence Award—the highest honor at the competition—along with six other international accolades.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanaseuk Nichanong, Vice President for Administration, Research, and Innovation, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Jitwimon Klaisuban, Director of the Research and Development Institute, and the SDU research team, presented three innovative projects that addressed the needs of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). These projects were selected to represent Thailand by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

The exhibition, held from December 4 to 6, 2025, is recognized as one of Asia’s largest innovation platforms. The results of the competition brought immense joy, as all three submissions—a collaborative effort between SDU’s Research and Development Institute, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the IEAT—brought prestige to Thailand by collectively winning seven international awards:

  • Global Innovation Excellence Award: The highest award in the competition.
  • Gold Medals: 3 Awards
  • NRCT Special Award: 3 Awards

Details of the Award-Winning Projects

The winning innovations included:

  1. “Application of Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence: For Sustainable Carbon Emission Control in the Industrial Transport System” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitinat Sukonket, Dr. Rangsan Jomtarak, and team from the Faculty of Science and Technology.
  2. “Bio-hydrogel Fire Extinguishing Powder”
  3. “Innovative Fire-Resistant Fabric for Industrial Emergencies” (Projects 2 and 3 were presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttabodee Viriyawattana and team from the Faculty of Science and Technology).

These accomplishments reflect Suan Dusit University’s strong potential in research and innovation, successfully creating and developing products that earned international recognition and met the current demands of the market and industrial sector.
