Suan Dusit University’s Environment Center Joins Educational Alliance Meeting on Climate Change, Driving a 38-University Network Toward Sustainable Disaster Response

Thirty-eight universities, one shared problem: climate change. Suan Dusit University sent its Environment Center — under the Faculty of Science and Technology, led by Dr. Phonthida Thepprasit along with education service officers Ms. Wanna Saenjaikla and Ms. Thanicha Senanuwong — to the 2nd Workshop to Strengthen Educational Alliance Cooperation on Climate Change. The Nakhon Nayok Education Center joined too, represented by Mrs. Thamonwan Premsri, Deputy Director of the Nakhon Nayok Off-Campus Education Center.

The Department of Climate Change and Environment organized the whole thing, pulling together a 38-university network to swap knowledge and hash out how they’d actually cooperate going forward. The bigger aim: tighter collaboration between government and educational institutions, all in service of pushing climate action under the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) framework.

Rather than sit through lectures, participants worked in a co-design format — trading views, breaking down context, and mapping out how area-level coordination units (Nodes) and the Regional Action for Climate Empowerment Center (RACE) should actually function. Everything points toward one target: Net Zero by 2050.

The workshop ran August 5-6, 2026, at the Asia Airport Hotel in Pathum Thani Province.
