The SDGs Driving Task Force, Suan Dusit University, hosts the 5th Sustainability Forum under the theme “SDGs Together: Unlocking the Secrets of the SDGs… Moving Forward Together.”

Suan Dusit University (SDU) organized its 5th Sustainability Forum under the theme “Sustainability in Action: SDGs in SDU’s Path to the Future.” The specific session, titled “SDGs Together: Unlocking the Secrets to Sustainable Progress,” was held on the 1st floor of the Raktakanit Building. The forum served as a collaborative platform for exchanging knowledge on driving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within higher education institutions.

The event resulted from a partnership between the Sirote Pholpuntin Institute and the SDU SDG Drive Working Group. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitauk Chancharoen, Acting President of Suan Dusit University, presided over the opening ceremony and presented tokens of appreciation to representatives from partner universities, including:

  • Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), led by Prof. Dr. Parin Chaivisuthangkura, Vice President for Research and Innovation.
  • Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattama Wattanapanich, Assistant to the President.

The forum featured a deep-dive discussion into practical implementation strategies moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukhum Chaleysub, Chief Advisor to the President of SDU. The distinguished panel of experts included

  • Prof. Dr. Parin Chaivisuthangkura (SWU)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornchanit Kaew-nate, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs (SDU)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattama Wattanapanich (BSRU)

Celebrating Excellence: The “Hong Thong” and “5 Star My Cup” Awards

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Hong Thong” (Golden Swan) Award, which recognized internal departments for their dedication and efficiency in driving SDGs. This year’s prestigious award was bestowed upon the School of Culinary Arts.

Furthermore, the university honored exemplary individuals through the “5 Star My Cup, Our Earth” initiative. This program encouraged SDU staff to use personal tumblers instead of single-use plastic cups. Over the past year, the project successfully eliminated 835 plastic cups, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 71.81 kgCO₂eq.The top achievers were

  1. Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanakorn Paksa (Director of Student Development Division) – 219 uses.
  2. Mr. Teeraboon Dejudom (Assistant Director of Academic Resources and IT) – 182 uses.
  3. Ms. Suwanna Dangto (Human Capital Development Center) – 109 uses.
  4. Lecturer Montol Suwanprapha (Environmental Health and Disaster Program) – 70 uses.
  5. Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomsak Kitthawee (Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance) – 52 uses.

To conclude the event, a special “Like & Share” activity was held via the @SDUSDGDrive Facebook page, where participants shared their impressions of the forum to receive limited-edition LAMY Safari pens.
